Commissioning Chemical Reactors for Biodiesel Production Project

Abstract

Commissioning the chemical reactors is a critical stage in the detail engineering of production plant project.  Communication between plant operators, field engineers, project manager as well as process engineers is of importance to verify what is planned and to address any inconsistency during this stage. The subsequent operations of the plant rely on the success of the commissioning. This paper will discuss the strategic steps how to carry out commissioning effectively and successfully. Piping and Instrument Diagram is utilized as the communication tool between all the stake holders involved in the project. The objective of wet commissioning is to ensure that all the design specifications are fulfilled as per built. These steps are implemented for the chemical reactors owing to their role as the heart of the biodiesel production plant.
